Family Tree Maker convert
their data to RootsMagic,
which is universally voted
the best
genealogy data base program
available. RM has a feature
which allows you to take
your data
off-site on a flash
drive and is also available
for MAC.
If
you like you can bring your
own laptop to make the
switch at the meeting,
but be sure to upload
RootsMagic7 to your hard
drive before you come. (RM
is free, but you can buy
the $29.95 FULL version in
order to transfer ALL your
data.)
John
will also
explain the
advantages of
having a
genealogy data
base program
like RootsMagic
on your
own hard drive
if you have only
been using
off-site trees,
such as those on
Ancestry and
FamilySearch.org
Even
if you
currently
don't use a
data
based-genealogy
program, come
and hear the
advantages of
doing so.
