RootsMagic,
v. 4
One
of the most appealing features of RootsMagic 4.0 is a little gimmick
called "Roots to GO". Many of us have struggled with heavy laptops (and
then we have to plan for the security of that laptop while we are in
the facility) in historical societies and libraries, as well as finding
we have extra time to visit a facility but not having our data with us.
RootsMagic To Go lets us put our trees on a flash drive and
access the RootsMagic program with that drive. So if we carry it on a
keychain, for example, we can always have our data with us. This comes
in particularly handy using our library's free programs, such as
ancestry, which we may not have at home.
John Weaber walked us through the extremely user-friendly RootsMagic
program, showing us its many features and wonderful capabilities.
Anyone who takes a look at this program (free download at
rootsmagic.com) can not help but be impressed. PLUS, for a short time,
RootsMagic is offering a discount for users of Legacy, PAF, FTM and
TMG. Go to:

John will be teaching a class in this wonderful program (which costs
under $30!!) in a class to be given at the Upper Merion Senior Center
in September. Check for
further information.
John Weaber retired from Wyeth
Pharmaceuticals about three years ago as Senior Manager of a protein
analysis laboratory. He started to research his family history in
January 2000. He figured he'd work on it for a year and by then
he
would find all the information that existed, write a report and be
finished!!
WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FLASH
DRIVE IN A PUBLIC LIBRARY COMPUTER! The sensitive information it holds
can be used for ID theft.!!
